Snow is Coming! Here's how you can prepare your Business.


shovelling_color.pngAs much of the East Coast prepares for the upcoming Winter Blizzard, here are a few simple steps you can take to minimize any damage to your computer systems and data:


  • Have an emergency plan in place.

  • Retain a hard copy of all employees' contact information and possibly create an escalation phone tree inclusive of home and cell phone numbers.

  • Make sure you save all documents that you are working on.

  • Shut down desktop and laptop computers.

  • Turn off monitors.

  • Unplug desktop/laptop computers  and monitors from the power source

  • Unplug printers from the power source.

  • Shut down your server environment - Please contact DP Solutions' Service Desk for assistance at 410-720-1220.

  • Scan your office area for any equipment on the floor and move to a higher area.

  • Take laptops home with you.

 When you return to your office:

  • Assess any damage.

  • If everything appears to be okay and you have power, you can begin to power up all equipment.
