RICHARD CAREY APPOINTED TO Technology DIRECTOR AT DP SOLUTIONS
Carey Will Help Lead the Way DP Solutions Presents Technology Solutions as well as Discover and Enhance the IT Solutions the Company Offers
Columbia, MD, APRIL 3, 2017 – DP Solutions, a Maryland-based Managed IT Services Provider, has promoted Richard Carey to the role of Technology Director. He will have the primary responsibility of managing how DP Solutions demonstrates technology solutions as well as provide the direction for the company by aligning itself with technological trends.
“Rich has been a key contributor to DP Solutions’ success these past five years, and we are excited to have him take this lead position as Technology Director,” said Karyn Schell, VP of Operations at DP Solutions. “The innovation and dedication that he has shown during his tenure is certain to enrich the services that we provide.”
As Technology Director, Carey will be an innovative leader in the way DP Solutions delivers and presents technology. His proficient background in IT, combined with an aptitude of foresight, allows him to see what IT trends are on the horizon and how DP Solutions can align with appropriate solutions. Carey’s short-term goals are to build a next generation hosting environment, develop a strong team that will improve DP Solutions’ capabilities, and implement and improve best practices. In the long term, he wants to find additional directions and areas for revenue with technological movements.
“I see IT becoming a more collaborative environment,” said Carey. “I see technology moving more towards software innovation. In the past, you’d buy based on proprietary features, the trend is going to be standardization and hardware agnostic; software will be malleable.”
Prior to joining DP Solutions, Carey received his bachelor’s degree from Western Governors University. After graduating, Carey worked for Maxim Healthcare Services for six years as a System Engineer.
In 2011, Carey joined the DP Solutions team as a Project Engineer, with his core focus being on-premise and hosting deployments. “Being out in the field opened my eyes to a lot of different ways of doing things,” said Carey. These observations allowed him to implement new standardizations in the way DP Solutions manages technology and are still in use today. Carey’s success in the field eventually led to a promotion to Senior Project Architect. In this role, he worked closely with the former Director of Technology to keep DP Solutions on the cutting-edge of technology. In his new role, Carey hopes to continue this innovation and grow DP Solutions quicker than ever by providing the best technology solutions available.
Carey holds technical certifications from VMware, Juniper, Cisco, Microsoft, and IBM.
