Mathspace, an online mathematics learning platform, disclosed a data breach after attackers exploited a vulnerability in one of its internal systems. The attackers gained administrator access and downloaded user information from the company's database.
When did it happen?
Attackers first gained access on August 10, 2026, downloaded data on August 27, and the breach was confirmed by Mathspace on September 3.
Who was affected?
Approximately 1.08 million individuals were impacted, including students, parents, guardians, teachers, school staff, and Mathspace employees in Australia and New Zealand. Exposed data included names, usernames, email addresses, user IDs, and account-related information, but did not include passwords, academic records, or authentication credentials.
