Matt is a co-founder at Shield 7 Consulting and serves as the firm’s Principal Architect, leading Shield 7’s penetration testing and security assessment teams. He has previously worked for Check Point Software in a security engineering capacity and as a solutions architect. Peter Bowers brings over two decades of extensive experience to his role, adeptly guiding clients in the negotiation and implementation of intricate insurance programs and comprehensive risk management strategies. His primary focus lies in orchestrating Directors and Officers placements for a diverse client base encompassing publicly traded corporations, private equity entities, and privately held companies. In addition to this, Peter is seasoned in the domain of mergers and acquisitions, having demonstrated expertise through a multitude of successful public and private transactions. Furthermore, he is recognized for his acumen in the realm of cyber liability insurance, providing invaluable insights to safeguard clients against evolving digital threats and vulnerabilities.

 Michael O'Leary, Ph.D., Professor of Computer Science and Mathematics at Towson University will cover a range of essential topics to empower SMBs with practical knowledge and strategies to protect their digital assets and sensitive information.

Michael is the coach of the Towson University Cyber Defense team. Michael has a joint appointment with the Department of Computer and Information Sciences and the Department of Mathematics. He was the chair of the department of Mathematics from 2015-2023. From 2011-2015, he was the founding Director of the School of Emerging Technology, and was the director of the Center for Applied Information Technology (2007-2012) and the graduate director of the Integrated Homeland Security Management Masters program (2008-2012). He has coached the Towson team to the finals of the National Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition (NCCDC) in 2010, 2012 and 2014. He teaches the capstone, hands-on course in the cyberoperations track for the computer science major, and is the author of the book Cyber Operations (2nd ed., 2019) (1st ed., 2015).
