HOW TO HELP

chrysalis

Chrysalis House provides treatment for women from across Maryland age 18 years and older with substance use and mental health disorders, while providing a safe, nurturing home for their children during their mothers' program of recovery. Chrysalis House is unique in that we are one of only three programs in the state that allows women to have their children live with them during residential treatment.

CAC-3

Community Action Council of Howard County's (CAC) mission is to diminish poverty, enable self-sufficiency and advocate for low-income families and individuals. CAC was established in 1965 and is the County's designated anti-poverty organization. The programs and services have evolved over CAC's history to respond to critical needs of Howard County residents and CAC has served with an unwavering dedication and belief in giving people a hand up and moving families from crisis to self-sufficiency.

Today CAC’s core programs include: housing assistance, energy and weatherization assistance, food assistance (Howard County Food Bank), and early childhood education programming (Head Start 7 Pre-K). With the support of our community, CAC served over 52,000 Howard County residents last year.
