Google brings dark web monitoring to all U.S. Gmail users

Google announced that all Gmail users in the US will soon be able to use the dark web report security feature to discover if their email address has been found on the dark web.

Once enabled, it will allow Gmail users to scan the dark web for their email addresses and take action to protect their data based on guidance provided by Google.

KeePass exploit helps retrieve cleartext master password, fix coming soon

A new vulnerability found in popular password manager KeePass,  makes it possible to recover the KeePass master password, apart from the first one or two characters, in cleartext form, regardless of whether the KeePass workspace is locked, or even closed. This allows attackers who compromise a device to retrieve the password even when the database is locked. A fix is coming soon.

Microsoft shares fix for cameras not working on Surface laptops

Microsoft has shared a temporary fix for a widespread issue triggered by a buggy driver that causes built-in cameras on some ARM-based Windows devices (including Surface Pro X laptops) to stop working. Affected systems include those running Windows 10 22H2 or Windows 11 21H2/22H2 and use the following processors: Qualcomm 8cx Gen 1, Qualcomm 8cx Gen 2, Microsoft SQ1, and Microsoft SQ2.

Phishers are Weaponizing .ZIP Domains to Trick Victims

A new phishing technique called "file archiver in the browser" can be leveraged to "emulate" a file archiver software in a web browser when a victim visits a .ZIP domain. Threat actors could create realistic-looking phishing landing pages  that mimic legitimate file archive software, and host it on a .zip domain to execute a social engineering attacks.
