Omni Hotels confirms cyberattack behind ongoing IT outage
A cyberattack caused an IT outage at Omni Hotels & Resorts. In response, Omni brought systems offline to protect data and launched an investigation with a cybersecurity response team.
US cancer center data breach exposes info of 827,000 patients
City of Hope, cancer treatment and research center, experienced a security breach between September and October of 2023. An investigation determined that some sensitive patient data was exposed, including but not limited to: full name, email address, date of birth, social security number, bank account number, health insurance information. City of Hope is offering identity monitoring coverage for those potentially impacted.
MITRE Response to Cyber Attack in One of Its R&D Networks
MITRE suffered a breach on its collaborate network (called NERVE) that is used for research, development, and prototyping. MITRE took action by taking the environment offline and launching an investigation that is ongoing.
Ring customers get $5.6 million in privacy breach settlement
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is refunding certain Ring users whose video feeds were accessed by Amazon and third-party contractors without consent or had their devices/accounts hacked due to inadequate security measures. Eligible Ring customers were identified by the company if their account was vulnerable.
Panda Restaurants discloses data breach after corporate systems hack
A cyberattack compromised the corporate systems of Panda Restaurant Group and stole the personal information of current and former employees. No in-store systems or operations were affected by the breach. After the incident was detected, Panda Restaurants secured its environment and launched an investigation to determine the specific information exposed and the individuals impacted.
Dropbox Discloses Breach of Digital Signature Service Affecting All Users
A threat actor gained access to Dropbox Sign through a compromised service account and accessed emails, usernames, and account settings. Dropbox is in the processes of contacting impacted users. Their security team has reset user passwords and logged users out of all connected devices.
