Dell investigates data breach claims after hacker leaks employee info
A threat actor leaked private data of over 10,000 Dell employees and partners. The data includes full names, unique identifiers, and status of employees. The Dell security team is currently investigating the claims.
‘Pig butchering’ trading apps found on Google Play, App Store
'Pig butchering' is a scam where victims think they are getting high investment returns on a fake trading platform. Victims may not realize it's a scam until they attempt to withdraw their money. Google and Apple have both removed the fraudulent apps from their official stores.
Microsoft and DOJ disrupt Russian FSB hackers' attack infrastructure
Microsoft and the Justice Department thwarted a Russian hacking group's attempts to steal sensitive information from US-based companies, civil society organizations, and current and former US government employees. The spear-phishing campaigns were intended to trick victims into revealing information and to interfere in their activities.
Cyber criminals attack businesses in Adobe-themed phishing surge
There has been an increase in phishing emails leveraging Adobe's trusted brand and domain. The emails have legitimate brand logos and content, but when the recipient clicks on the link, it takes them to another site controlled by the attackers. Employees need to be trained on what to look for and how to report a suspicious threat.
Why companies are investing in cloud security
Cloud security is becoming a priority investment for businesses. 50% of cyber security professionals, surveyed by Cyber Security Hub, said their cloud security investments would slightly or significantly increase over the next 12 months. Businesses are looking for cloud security services that can specifically meet the needs of their security landscape.
